Two out of threefamilies haveno plan at all
Not a bad plan. Not an out of date plan. Nothing.
The families who do have one usually got there the same way: a referral, a conference room, a retainer, and a bill somewhere north of three thousand dollars. That process works. It is also why most people never start, and why the ones who need it most are the least likely to have it.
We did not build Legacy Buddy because estate planning was badly designed. We built it because it was priced and packaged for people who already had wealth, and it treated everyone else as though they had nothing worth protecting. A single mother with eleven thousand dollars in savings and a seven year old has more at stake in that document than a family office does.
So we made the whole thing one platform instead of a one time transaction. Build the foundation. Grow what you have earned. Pass it on the way you actually intend. For forty nine dollars a year, and for as many revisions as your life demands.
Build. Grow. Pass it on.
The Legacy Buddy team
The gap was never knowledge. It was access.
Almost everyone already knows they should have a will. Ask any room of adults and nearly all of them will say yes, we should really do that. Then ask how many have.
What stops people is not ignorance and it is not apathy. It is that the first step has always been expensive and unfamiliar at the same time. You have to find a lawyer, guess whether their fee is reasonable, take a weekday afternoon off, and answer questions about your own death in a room where you are the only person not being paid to be there. Most people decide to handle it next year, and then it is next year again.
Meanwhile the cost of not doing it lands on the people you were trying to protect. Intestate estates take months to a year to resolve. Probate is public, so the neighbours can read what your house sold for. A house with no clear instruction turns two siblings who got along fine into two siblings who do not. None of that is caused by a lack of love. It is caused by a lack of paperwork.
The second thing we learned was that documents alone do not solve it. A will signed in 2019 and never looked at again describes a family that no longer exists. It names an executor who has moved, leaves a percentage of an account that was closed, and appoints a guardian who has since had three children of her own. The industry has treated estate planning as a purchase. It is a relationship with your own future, and it has to be maintained.
That is why Legacy Lens™ sits at the centre of this platform rather than off to the side. Your LQ™ Score exists so your plan is a live thing you can see the state of, not a folder you hope is still accurate. The documents are the output. The relationship is the product.
And that is why updates are free, permanently. The moment we charge you to keep your own plan current, we are back to selling a transaction, and we know exactly what happens next. You do not pay it, and your will quietly goes out of date.
A future where every family has the tools to build wealth that lasts.
Five commitments, in plain language
Not words on a wall. Each of these is a decision we have already had to make, and would make again.
Nobody is too small to protect
A renter with one child and no savings gets the same state compliance checks, the same encryption and the same free updates as a household with a rental portfolio. There is no thin version of the product for people paying less.
We tell you when software is not enough
If your situation involves a special needs child, an operating business or property across several states, the platform says so and offers you an attorney. We would rather lose the sale than hand you a document that will not hold.
Your data is not the business model
We do not sell your information, we do not broker it to insurers or lenders, and your LQ™ Score is never shown to anyone but you. We make money from subscriptions and a flat attorney review fee, which is exactly how we want it.
No fine print at the moment of truth
Every price on this site is the price. Updates are free and always will be. If you cancel you keep every document you signed and you can download all of it. We publish those terms in the same size type as everything else.
Write it the way you would say it
Legal documents have to use legal language. Nothing else does. If a screen in this platform makes you feel less capable than you are, that is our failure to fix, not a subject you need to go and study.
Early, and honest about it
Thirty four thousand families were already waiting before we opened, which tells us the problem is real and the price was the barrier all along.
Families building with us
States with document compliance built in
A first will, from starting to signed
Charges to update a document, now or ever
Be one of the families with a plan.
It takes about five minutes to find out where you stand. Everything after that is your decision.
Free forever. No card. You pay only when you want documents.
